Salvation Army Raises Thousands at Inaugural Breakfast in Bellevue
The Salvation Army's first ever fund raising breakfast on the eastside drew big support and bigger dollars.
The Salvation Army Eastside Corps raised $25,000 at its first ever fundraising breakfast on the eastside on Wednesday morning.
Approximately 100 attendees paid $75 per plate and made additional contributions, helping bring the total figure raised to $25,000.
"We are thrilled that the community came out to support us," said Lora Marini Baker, director of communications for the Salvation Army's Northwest Division.

Local dignitaries in attendence at the Bellevue Hyatt Regency included Bellevue Mayor Conrad Lee and King County Councilwoman Jane Hague.
"It was great to have the mayor of Bellevue and Councilwoman Hague at our event," Baker said.

Funds raised at the breakfast will help finance Salvation Army programs on the eastside, such as a nightly free community dinner, after school tutoring, summer camps, rent and utility assistance and holiday events.
The Salvation Army's Eastside Corps is active in Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Woodinville and Bothell. The Eastside Corps was first established in 1992.
