Sammamish Lacrosse Defeats Skagit Valley Tuesday

Tyvan Schmidt's 6 goals leads Sammamish lacrosse past Skagit Valley. Next game is tonight at 7 p.m. at Lakeside School in Seattle.

BELLEVUE – Tyvan Schmidt equaled a season-high 6 goals to lead Sammamish to its 8th win of the season with an 8 – 5 boys high school lacrosse defeat of visiting Skagit Valley, Tuesday at Newport High School in Bellevue.

Evergreen Division leading Sammamish and Skagit matched each other goal-for-goal to take a 4 – 4 deadlock into the fourth. In the end, Sammamish delivered 4 fourth quarter goals to take log their 8th win of the season.

Sammamish (8-1-0) next faces Lakeside (1-8-0), Thursday, April 7 in a 5 p.m. start at the Lakeside School in north Seattle. Skagit Valley (1-3-0) next faces Wenatchee (6-2-0), Friday, April 8 in a 5:30 p.m. start at Skagit River Park.

Griffin Van Baush led Skagit with five points and helped fuel the offensive effort with 9 ground-ball grabs. Jordan Johnson had 11 saves in the goal, holding Sammamish to its lowest scoring production of the season.
