More than 460 Symetra employees recently mobilized across the Puget Sound region — and across the country — in support of local communities during the fourth-annual “Symetra Week of Service,” held June 25-29.
Wearing vivid blue ‘Team Symetra Volunteer’ T-shirts, employee volunteers logged nearly 1,700 hours over five days to help build homes, clear trails, tutor kids, paint, clean and organize on behalf of 30 nonprofit organizations—16 around the Eastside and in the Greater Seattle area. (See complete Puget Sound-area list of organizations here.)
Two Bellevue organizations once again drew enthusiastic Symetra volunteer crews. Over the course of Tuesday, June 26, and Wednesday, June 27, some 40 employees contributed a collective 120 hours of manpower to help sort food donations at Hopelink Food Bank. Another 21 volunteers threw their energies into spreading bark on canine walking trails and painting parking lot curbs at the Humane Society for Seattle/King County on Friday, June 29.
