The has set the date for its annual Tuxes & Tails Gala. The gala is the Seattle Humane Society’s premier fundraising event.
This year the gala will be May 7 at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue. Tickets will go on sale March 1, according to the event website.
This year's emcees will be Herb Weisbaum of KOMO news and Margaret Larson, host of KING 5's New Day Northwest.
Every year, more than 600 animal lovers gather to bid on amazing silent and live auction items in support of the animals in the shelter's care. Guests enjoy a gourmet dinner, delicious wine, and find delight in the night’s finale--a celebrity and pet fashion show!
Last year, the Seattle Humane Society was able to raise $675,000. The funds raised from the event go directly to providing food, shelter, and veterinary care for the thousands of animals in our care each year. It also supports its low-fee spay/neuter services, its Pet Food Bank for the pets of low-income seniors and Pet Project for the animals of people with AIDS, and many other life-saving programs and services.
Seattle Humane Society is a private shelter and with no local, state or federal government funding. It relies on the generosity of the community through gifts and grants.
