Join Chef John Howie in the Kick Hunger Challenge

Chef John Howie is teaming up with Metropolitan Market in Kirkland this Saturday, November 9th, to benefit the Taste of the NFL's Kick Hunger Challenge! Chef Howie represents the Seahawks team with “Singing Seahawk” Craig Terrill. For every dollar raised, three nutritious meals are provided to those in need through Seattle Food Lifeline; a non-profit organization dedicated to ending hunger in Western Washington.

There will be a chili cook-off on November 9th from 12-3pm, with various departments at Metropolitan Market competing to make the best chili. Guests can taste chili from the cook-off and vote for their favorite to be crowned the winner, and Chef Howie will also award one of the departments with the Chef’s Choice. Chef Howie’s very own chili from SPORT will be available for guests to taste as well. The event will feature live music with the “Singing Seahawk” Craig Terrill, Chef Howie’s partner in the Kick Hunger Challenge.

Chef Howie’s cookbook, Passion & Palate, will be sold at the cook-off, and proceeds will benefit the Kick Hunger Challenge. Chef Howie and Jay Buhner will be at the event, signing books and greeting guests. If you can’t be at the cook-off, donate through Taste of the NFL’s Seahawks page, and help Chef Howie win the Kick Hunger Challenge again this year!
