Vandana Slatter Earns Sole Endorsement of Incumbent Councilmember Don Davidson

BELLEVUE – Incumbent Bellevue City Councilmember and former two-time Mayor Don Davidson has offered Vandana Slatter his sole endorsement. He endorses Slatter after conceding his candidacy since the conclusion of the top-two primary election in this competitive race for Bellevue City Council.

“It is important that our city government stay balanced, nonpartisan, and focused on the needs of citizens,” Davidson said. “Vandana Slatter is an independent thinker with the thoughtful approach needed to work collaboratively and effectively on the Council, to protect what makes Bellevue special. Additionally, her business experience in a leading global industry uniquely qualifies her to support Bellevue’s local economy and prosperity.”

“I’m honored to receive Councilmember Davidson’s sole endorsement,” said Slatter. “Don has served our community well for many years. I hope to follow in his tradition of respectful public service while working to protect Bellevue’s quality of life, preserve our unique neighborhoods and support efficient transportation for our community.”

Dr. Slatter holds a Doctorate in Pharmacy, and Masters in Public Administration from the UW, is currently a Trustee on the Overlake Hospital Foundation Board, and has served as a volunteer advisor to Bellevue College science department. She is a former State Board of Pharmacy gubernatorial appointee and past Trustee for the CHILD School. Vandana works at Amgen, Inc. as a Senior Regional Medical Sciences Liaison.

Vandana Slatter is supported by a broad coalition of local leaders and organizations, including sole endorsements from NARAL Pro-Choice Washington, Planned Parenthood Votes Northwest, OneAmerica Votes, United Food and Commercial Workers local 21, State Senator Steve Litzow (R), State Representative Judy Clibborn (D), and Former State Representative Deb Eddy (D); and the support of King County Young Democrats, National Women’s Political Caucus of Washington, Bellevue City Councilmember Claudia Balducci, and thousands of Bellevue citizens.
