520 Bridge to Close Westbound Late Friday Through Saturday

Drivers headed into Seattle should be aware of the closure of the westbound lanes of the State Route 520 Bridge on Saturday Sept. 7. The closure starts at 11 p.m. Friday Sept. 6.

Drivers headed into Seattle beware this Saturday, Sept. 7: the westbound lanes of the State Route 520 bridge will be closed late Friday and are slated to reopen at 5 p.m. Saturday.

The closure is set between 92nd Avenue Northeast in Clyde Hill to Montlake Boulevard in Seattle and will allow crews to pour concrete for new West Connection Bridge columns, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. The West Connection Bridge is a temporary structure that will connect the State Route 520 bridge replacement that's currently under construction with the existing State Route 520 roadway on the Seattle end of the bridge, according to the state.

Drivers should also plan for a full closure of the bridge the following weekend, from Sept. 13-16, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
