Sound Transit Sets Open House for East Link Bel-Red Segment

Sound Transit reports that the Bel-Red portion of the East Link line is 60 percent designed.

Sound Transit will host an open house in Bellevue for the Bel-Red section of East Link on Sept. 10.

The agency has reached 60 percent of the design for the Bel-Red segment including the 130th and the 120th stations, according to Sound Transit.

The meeting will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Highland Community Center 14224 Bel-Red Rd., Bellevue.

Additional opportunities for public involvement will be available as final design progresses, according to the agency, including commenting on plans on landscaping, station materials and more.

Construction on the line between Seattle and Redmond, via a route through Mercer Island and Bellevue, is expected to begin 2015. Sound Transit aims to put the East Link branch of Link light rail in service by 2023.
