Eastside Pathways Names Stephanie Cherrington to Top Post

Cherrington had been serving as interim Executive Director for the past two months after the death of co-founder and executive director Bill Henningsgaard in August.

Eastside Pathways Board of Directors has hired Stephanie Cherrington as Executive Director, according to a press release from the organization.

Eastside Pathways' previous executive director, co-founder Bill Henningsgaard, died with his son, Max, in August when a small plane he was piloting crashed into a home in Connecticut

Cherrington had been serving as interim Executive Director for the past two months after Henningsgaard's death. She was Operations Officer for the previous year and a Program Facilitator before that, according to Eastside Pathways.

The organization released the following information about Cherrington's appointment:

“The board has complete confidence in Stephanie,” said Janet Levinger, Board Chair. “She is a strategic thinker with good attention to detail and great interpersonal skills. Our partners and staff already know and trust her. We need someone who can bring everyone together and keep the momentum going.”

“I am very excited about the mission of Eastside Pathways and dedicated to seeing great results for Bellevue’s children,” remarked Cherrington.

“Having Eastside Pathways as a partner helps the Bellevue School District realize its strategic goals,” said Judy Buckmaster, Executive Director of Student Services and Eastside Pathways board member. “Stephanie is a strong leader who works closely with us to align programs. She is great at keeping kids at the forefront.”
Prior to her involvement with Eastside Pathways, Cherrington was Executive Director of Explorations in Math (now Zeno Math) where she serves on the board of directors. She also worked for 13 years in the high tech and wireless industries in marketing, sales, and operations.

Eastside Pathways (www.eastsidepathways.org) is part of the StriveTogether network (www.strivetogether.org) which provides a framework for building a cradle to career civic infrastructure.  The framework helps each community create a vision and organize itself to get results for children.
