A Year of Celebrating

St. Louise de Marillac Parish in Bellevue, founded on February 12, 1960, brings to a close a year of celebrating their 50th Anniversary on Saturday, February 12 at the 5:00 PM Mass. The celebration will begin with a procession of flags from Canada, China, Columbia, Cuba, Ecuador, Germany, Hungary,India, Ireland, Mexico, Nigeria, Pan-Africa, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Sweden, United Kingdom, USA and Vietnam carried by parishioners, many in their native dress, representing the numerous ethnicities in the parish. The flags will be displayed on the Altar all weekend and then processed out after the 6:00 PM Life Teen Mass on Sunday evening.

 

An All Parish Choir consisting of members from the seventeen different music groups in the Parish will provide music for the 5:00 PM Mass. Everyone attending any of the seven Liturgies during the weekend will receive a Prayer card with an original painting of St. Louse de Marillac and St. Vincent de Paul, done by Parishioner Manuel Vazqeuz on the front and a prayer on the back side composed by Parishioner Mickey Main.

Many Celebrations took place during the 50th  year celebration including  a Dinner for Charter Members, a Mardi Gras Fundraiser for Haiti; the Vietnamese Feast of Our Lady of La Vang; Fr. Tom Belleque’s 25th Anniversary; dedication of the new Parish school and Faith Formation Center; Indian Feast of Our Lady of Vailankanni; a Pilgrimage to Rome; November posting of names of everyone buried in the parish since its founding;, Feast of Our Lady of Guadaulpe;, Simbang Gabi feast of Our Lady of Antipolo and an Italian dinner which was a annual happening during the early years of the parish.
