Bellevue Patch would like to extend a special thanks to Jeff Stroebel, who announced Bellevue seventh grader Owen Benda's advancement to the  25th annual National Geographic Bee in Washington, DC in late May.

"Benda qualified for the National Geographic Bee by capturing the Washington State Geographic Bee championship on April 5 in Tacoma," he wrote.
