NB I-405 to Close Through Bellevue for Weekend Road Repairs

Northbound Interstate 405 through Bellevue will close through the weekend for another round of roadway repairs, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. The state also will be working on the freeway in Kirkland and Renton.

Northbound Interstate 405 through downtown Bellevue will close through the weekend for another round of roadway repairs, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Crews also will do I-405 roadwork in Kirkland and Renton over the weekend as well, according to the WSDOT.

All northbound lanes of I-405 between Southeast Eighth Street and State Route 520 in Bellevue will close from 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, until the morning of Monday, Aug. 12, for concrete panel replacement.

North of that closure, northbound I-405 will be reduced to one lane between SR-520 and Northeast 70th Street in Kirkland from 2 to 7 a.m. on Saturday and from 1 to 5 a.m. on Sunday, according to the WSDOT.

In Renton, crews will replace a 30-year-old drainage pipe located under the State Route 167 roadway, which will mean that the interchange between SR-167 and I-405 also will be closed all weekend.

Last month, the state closed northbound I-405 through Bellevue over a weekend to replace more than 500 50-year-old concrete panels in the two left lanes between SE Eighth and Main streets, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. Traffic was detoured through Bellevue, which resulted in higher volumes of traffic than is typically seen in a weekend.
