AdultsAmerica the Beautiful: 19th Century American Landscape Painting

The Seattle Art Museum exhibit, Beauty and Bounty: American Art in the Age of Exploration, is on view at SAM through September 11, 2011. The exhibit features landscape paintings by Hudson River School artists as well as photographs documenting America’s age of exploration in the mid-1800s.
In relation to the exhibit, Art Historian Susan Olds presents this slide lecture featuring those who painted the American wilderness from the eastern Catskills to the western territories of the Louisiana Purchase.
