Wind Advisory Issued for Bellevue

A vigorous frontal system will bring windy conditions to the lowlands of western Washington this afternoon through this evening, prompting a wind advisory to be issued from noon Tuesday through midnight, according to the National Weather Service in Seattle.

Local sustained winds of 30-35 mph and gusts of 45-50 mph are likely. 

Winds are expected to increase this morning and reach their peak this afternoon and evening, the NWS said. While winds of this strength should not cause widespread damage, they can bring down small trees and branches causing local power outages.

The forecast for Bellevue today calls for rain with a high near 47 degrees and an overnight low of 43 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

A wind advisory is issued when sustained winds of 30-39 mph or gusts of 45-57 mph are likely.
