A play of contradiction and ambition, Macbeth opens with the sight of witches spinning predictions or grandeur and quickly moves deeper into chaos, ''fog and filthy air'', murder, and dark mystery. Events transpire faster than the mind cam conceive as Macbeth seizes power only to be destroyed by his blind ambition.
