Man Accused in Bellevue Woman's Murder To Return from LA

Aleksandr Polak, 46, has agreed to return to King County from Los Angeles to face charges that he killed his ex-wife, Nataliya Vabishchevich of Bellevue.

Aleksandr Polak, 46, accused of killing his ex-wife Nataliya Vabishchevich of Bellevue, has agreed to return to King County from Los Angeles to face charges that he murdered her.
 
Polak, who is being held without bail in a Los Angeles county jail, signed an extradition waiver Wednesday morning, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. He is expected to be returned to King County within the next few weeks, the office said in a statement.

Polak was charged with first-degree murder last week in connection with the alleged stabbing death of Vabishchevich, 35, in Bellevue on June 17.

The defendant was arrested on June 20 in Los Angeles. Bellevue police investigators followed him from the Seattle area to southern California, where he traveled via Greyhound, according to court documents. Passengers told police that he said he was heading to Europe through Mexico, according to court documents.
