Apple Store Moving to New Location in Bellevue Square

Apple sent an email this morning about the grand reopening of its Bellevue Square store.

Update 10:41 a.m.:

We got confirmation from Apple that the store is indeed moving to a new location in the mall. We'll post more details as we get them.

Original story:

The is holding a grand reopening Saturday at 9:30 a.m., according to an email that customers (including me) got this morning (Tuesday).

I've contacted Apple's media department to see if we can get more details. There's not much more detail than that in the email, except that it's "bigger":

The redesigned Apple Store, Bellevue Square, is bigger and better than ever. It’s opening soon so you can shop, test-drive our products, ask questions, attend free workshops, and much more.

The  opened its seventh retail store  to much fanfare, and dwarfing the current Apple Store.

Rumors have circulated since May 2011 that Apple would relocate the store to a larger location (here via Macrumor and ifoApplestore) on the second floor of the mall.

All I know is that whenever I'm in the Apple Store, it's incredibly crowded. I've only picked up items that I've preordered because browsing has been pretty unpleasant. Tutorials on products tend to be conducted in a little space between a display countertop and a display table.

I was just at Bellevue Square yesterday, and there is a lot of activity in the large blank retail location next to Papyrus.

What do you think about this reopening? Tell us in the comments.

I am going to agree with you that it will go into the spot next to Papyrus, it is a large location, with mysterious black privacy panels, framed by stainless steel and marble. Best of all it "looks down" upon the Microsoft Store

Interesting observation that that location "looks down" on the Microsoft Store. I guess we'll soon see if that's the new location (if anyone sees Apple logos pop up on that black privacy panel, let me know....) The Sept. 1 grand re-opening date would be ahead of the (still rumored) release dates of the (rumored) new iPhone 5 and (supposed) iPad mini. http://cnettv.cnet.com/8301-33245_53-57502058-288/rumor-has-it-iphone-5-and-ipad-mini-the-reckoning/ If these products really come out when the tech press has been speculating, the Bellevue store will need the elbow room soon.
