God as referee: God's role in the outcome of sports

Every year around the Super bowl, the big debate begins. Every media outlet from ESPN to CNN debates. When athletes of faith like Ray Lewis and Colin Kaepernick take the field, everyone poses the question: What role does God play in sports? Does God intervene in games or plays? Does he answer prayers during the game? And most notably, does God decide who win?

Eddie Williams is an NFL player, public speaker and pastor who has set out to answer the question. Eddie’s unique perspective on the matter gives the reader insights they might not otherwise have. Ultimately, the author charges the reader to allow God to speak for himself. So many people want to offer their opinion on what they thinks God is doing. But God has much to say about his sovereignty in scripture. Eddie closes by appealing to God’s bigger mission of sending Jesus Christ in to the world and reconciling humanity to himself.
