A Royal Affair Fashion Show!

Last week, Rebecca Klein attended Silhouettes of Style--A Royal Affair Fashion show at the Westin in Bellevue.

As Coco Chanel said: “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” One of my favorite quotes. Anyway, if you have never been to a fashion show, then I recommend attending one hosted by the Bellevue Collection. Every fashion show they put on is extravagant! Every detail is planned, and the result is fantastic!

Last week, I attended the Silhouettes of Style--A Royal Affair fashion show at the Westin in Bellevue. You may have read about it in my article two weeks ago. It was to benefit the Tateuchi Center that is going to be built in Bellevue. The Tateuchi Center will feature artistic, cultural, educational, and entertainment experience of the highest quality. The center will feature a 2,000-seat concert hall and a 250-seat cabaret. I think this performing arts center will be a perfect fit for Bellevue!

Since the Royal Affair fashion show was on the same day as the royal wedding of Kate and William, it was royal themed! Everyone wore big chic hats, they played the royal wedding in the hall, and they had a whole theme in honor of Kate Middleton’s (aka Her Royal Highness The Dutchess Of Cambridge) classy style. It was lovely.

The emcee of this event was the wonderful Molly Shen from Komo 4 news, and the fashion show had everything perfect for the spring and summer. From maxi dresses to wedges, they really got the '70s trend down pat.

The different trend theme sections they had were:

THE MINIMALIST: The outfits in this section were all about the basic colors. Black, navy, olive, gray, and white. Everything was perfect for the casual Bellevue woman or man.

PRINT RENEGADE: They had such extraordinary prints, and everything was so colorful! Perfect for the summer.

"PROPER” LADY: This part was in honor of Kate Middleton’s style, and was probably my favorite. They showed the well-known hats and headpieces, classy dresses, and beautiful jackets. Everything was very Kate.

WHITE OUT: Basic white was this theme. White trench coats, dresses, and shorts--all the outfits were very preppy. Perfect for a nice summer day!

'70s HOMAGE: Probably my second favorite, all the outfits and accessories were bright, vintage, and had '70s patterns. Oh, and the shoes were to die for (but that was the case in the whole show)!

BRIGHT DELIGHT: Bright red, purple and pink marked this collection. All of the outfits were stunning--perfect colors and outfits for standing out.

NAUTICAL NUANCES: Yacht club clothes, from stripes to polos were featured here. This section displayed quintessential style for any boat trip on Lake Washington this spring and summer.

SAHARA:  Every item felt like you were going on an African safari. I loved it! They had items like gold sandals, beaded dresses, and animal print galore. The colors were all about the brown and white. Such clean looks.

SPECIAL EVENT: The final grouping was all about stunning dresses and skirts, with lots of glitter and sparkles--perfect for a Bellevue night out.
