Bellevue East Link Station Names, Designs Topics of May Open Houses

The next stage of Sound Transit's East Link project, that will bring light rail to Bellevue and the Eastside, will be public input on final design details, such as the look of the stations, station names, city projects and more.

Bellevue residents can weigh in on designs and names of the stations of Sound Transit's East Link project at upcoming meetings in downtown and South Bellevue.

This week will see the kickoff of the final design process for the Downtown Bellevue segment, and will be Thursday May 16, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. The presentation begins at 5:30 p.m. at Bellevue City Hall, 450 110th Ave. NE.

The project is in final design, the process that advances design work from approximately 30 percent to 100 percent completion. Final design offers many opportunities for residents, neighborhood organizations, property owners and businesses to get involved.

The South Bellevue segment will be the topic of a meeting May 30, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Hilton Bellevue Hotel, 300 112th Ave. SE. The presentation begins at 5:30 p.m.

The entire 14-mile line that will connect Seattle's Central Link with the Eastside through Redmond via a light rail system through Mercer Island and Bellevue will cost $2.8 billion and is expected to open in 2023.
