World renowned rugby player Waisale Serevi came to Bellevue this week for a Rugby Spring Break Camp, that focused on basic skills, fitness and teamwork. Photographer was there to capture the action. Mercer Island Patch editor Kendall Watson gave us some additional perspective on these kids' chance to work with Serevi: "Serevi was a top-class Fijian Rugby Sevens player (considered one of the best ever by many fans of the game) over the last decade and also played flyhalf for Fiji in the Rugby World Cups of 1991, 1999 and 2003. What an honor!"

Councilwoman Jennifer Robertson kicked off her campaign for re-election last week. She was appointed in 2009 to fill the term of Councilman Phil Noble, who died in office. According to the Public Disclosure Commission, she also had more contributions than any other person running for Bellevue council who currently has an official campaign listed with the state agency.

In the first three months of 2011, Bellevue residents saw a 66 percent increase in burglaries throughout the city of Bellevue over the same time period last year. Bellevue police are responding with increased patrols, focused investigations at schools -- most of the suspects charged so far have been middle and high school aged. A reader rightfully pointed out that the original story did not include some pertinent information, or did not display it prominently in the story, so I'll point them out here:

1) The burglaries are spread throughout the city, but the Lake Hills and Lakemont areas have seen a disproportionate amount of the increase.

2) These are residential burglaries. The article was not specific.
