Bellevue hopes to include requirements for mitigation in an agreement with Sound Transit over the East Link tunnel. Public hearing was the latest stand of supporters of a light rail alignment that was rejected by Sound Transit.

The selfless giving of Rachel Beckwith, who died at age 9 in a multiple-car accident on Interstate 90, inspired thousands to donate in her memory, resulting in Charity: Water's largest campaign.

The Washington State Department of Transportation plans to close northbound Interstate 405 through Monday morning to reconnect the ramps on I-405 and SR-520. When the freeway opens, drivers should remember the new configuration of onramps, which will help ease traffic congestion.

King County Metro transit introduced the new RapidRide service B Line, allowing residents to try it out for free Saturday and Sunday. Local dignitaries launched the bus service last week. The distinctive red buses feature Wi-Fi, signal priority and automated on-board announcements.

Rosalie Whyel celebrated the 19th anniversary of the Rosalie Whyel Museum of Doll Art by playing with dolls. The distinctive museum will close in March 2012, but there is still plenty planned for its final six months.
