Bellevue Restaurateur John Howie Aims To Raise $15,000 for Japan in Fundraising Dinner and Auction

The chef is hosting a fundraiser at the Bravern April 29. Seats are limited to 100 guests and the five-course dinner is $100.

The John Howie Restaurant Group is hoping to make a significant contribution of at least $15,000 to Japanese disaster relief.  On Friday, April 29 the Executive Chefs of (Bellevue), locations in Bellevue and Seattle, Adriatic Grill in Tacoma, and SPORT Restaurant & Bar in Seattle, along with proprietor John Howie, will host a “Chefs for Japan” charitable dinner at the in Bellevue.  The 5-course meal, of which each course will be paired with outstanding wines, is limited to 100 guests and priced at $100 per person.  All of the proceeds will go to help feed victims of the twin catastrophes, the result of one of the largest earthquakes ever recorded followed by the massive destruction of a tsunami.

The fundraiser will also include ten very tempting raffle packages.  One lucky ticket holder will dine on a delicious dinner for four at John Howie Steak accompanied by a Magnum of award winning Betz Family Wine, and then adjourn across the street for a comfortable overnight stay at the Courtyard Marriott.  A winning food lover will enjoy a personalized sushi making class for four guests with raw bar wizard Chef David Putaportiwon, followed by the ultimate seafood dinner at Seastar.  Sports aficionados should be tempted by the chance to nab a package that includes tickets to the Mariners, Seahawks, Sounders and Moto-Cross.

Due to the generous contributions of the John Howie Restaurant Group employees and sponsors, which include Charlie´s Produce, Merlino Foods, Interbay Foods and Medosweet Dairy, Trinchero Family Estates, Dreyfus-Ashby Wine, Winebow, Hestia Cellars, Cordon/Stoller Winery, Mark Ryan Winery, and Dr. and Mrs. Carl Liedholm, proprietor John Howie and his team will be able to donate every dollar of the proceeds to hunger relief in Japan. The “Chefs for Japan” dinner is priced at $100 per person, exclusive of tax and gratuity and will be held at 11111 NE 8th St., Bellevue in the former Artisanal Brasserie space, directly across from the entrance to John Howie Steak.
