Bellevue Youth Theatre Tackles Fairy Tales, Hunt for Eggs at KidsQuest and More: Get Out!

Lots of family fun this weekend: Sing along with the "Sound of Music," catch irreverent fairy tales at Bellevue Youth Theatre, hunt eggs at KidsQuest and more.

  • Why Go: The Renton PFLAG is hosting an all ages event (13-20) for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and allied youths this Saturday. Appetizers and beverages will be provided. Come dressed in your best ‘60s and early ‘70s costumes!

  • Why Go: The egg-stravaganza kicks off with crafts, games and photo opportunities with a furry, floppy-eared visitor this Sunday at 10 a.m. Don't forget to bring a basket because the egg hunting will begin at 10:30 a.m. You may even find one of the lucky eggs and win an egg-straordinary prize!

  • Why Go: This original, fun script takes an irreverent look at the classic fairy tales. Classic characters from different fairy tales find themselves all mixed up in this delightful story. This performance is sure to bring fun and happiness to the whole family.

  • Why Go: The Woodinville Community Band presents "Swords and Sorcery," an exciting concert featuring Johan de Meij's Symphony No 1, Lord of the Rings. Other pieces will continue the theme. This award winning work is sure to amaze and entertain audiences of all ages.

  • Where/When: 5:30-8 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, at  in Woodinville.
  • Why Go: Help Jon Sailer, a Boy Scout in Troop 573, earn his Eagle Scout ranking by attending this spaghetti feed fundraiser! For his project, Jon is building an “Outdoor Classroom Set” that consists of a table and four benches that can be used in a dining or classroom setting for 21 Acres. Along with spaghetti, there will be salad, brownies and other goodies. Drop by anytime between 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. for a delicious dinner benefitting a great cause!

  • Why Go: Artists in Action is back this Friday with demos, nibbles and sips, and a big welcome for more than 15 new gallery artists.

  • Why Go: Help keep the Lower Commons looking great by volunteering at this park restoration project. Volunteers will be working with stewards and staff to continue removal of invasive plants and add native plants that will enhance this area. Volunteers will also help to spread bark to help keep the plants from returning. Check out our for more information.
