Join Bellevue Patch at Child Safety Day at the Market Place at Factoria!
Safety for kids and families is the emphasis at this event on from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 12, at the Market Place at Factoria.
The shopping center, also known commonly as Factoria Mall, is hosting the event in partnership with the Bellevue Police Department, City of Bellevue, and Savvy Parents Safe Kids (run by Bellevue Patch blogger ).
The event includes a bike helmet giveaway for fifty kids, which will be at 1 p.m. Bellevue police officers will help fit the helmets properly. Additional helmets will be sold for $9.
Child safety seat inspections also are offered this year.
The event will have information, demonstrations, and activities geared toward supporting safety for kids and families, including photo opportunities for kids on police motorcycles.
Among the safety materials featured at the event is Operation Child Safe; a nation-wide program to provide families with a free Child I.D. Kit courtesy of the Bellevue Police Department.
Law Enforcement Memorial Day is also May 12, so the event will include a police boat and other local departments with their patrol cars on display. McGruff the Crime Dog will be sniffing around too.
