Eastside Fashion: Lauren Conrad Presents Her Paper Crown Line at Nordstrom in Bellevue Square

Last week, Nordstrom at Bellevue Square brought in the gorgeous reality star turned author and fashion designer Lauren Conrad. She came to Savvy department of Bellevue Square Nordstrom to help style people with her new fashion line Paper Crown.

Last week, at brought in the gorgeous reality star turned author and fashion designer Lauren Conrad. She came to the Savvy department to help style people with her new fashion line Paper Crown. When I heard she was coming I was ecstatic! Ever since Lauren was on the TV show "Laguna Beach," and then followed it up with "The Hills."

Lauren Conrad has always been such a style icon for me.

Lauren, originally from Laguna Beach, Calif., first found fame on MTV's reality show "Laguna Beach," which followed her and her friends during their senior year of high school. Then Lauren went on to the sequel "The Hills," which followed Lauren and her friends as they interned for the magazine Teen Vogue and fashion designers.

In 2007, she debuted her first clothing line at LA Fashion Week. “Fashion is something I've always wanted to do, ever since the sixth grade," Conrad once told an interviewer.

This savvy lady is also an author. She has written three novels, "L.A. Candy," "Sweet Little Lies," and "Sugar and Spice," which were published in 2009. In 2010, she wrote a style guide, "Lauren Conrad Style." You can read more about Lauren Conrad's books at Amazon.com.

Her line Paper Crown is available at SAVVY at the Bellevue Square Nordstrom. This line is so classy chic and so Lauren. By her own description, Paper Crown is a modern but classic combination of romantic pieces that you can wear through different seasons, balanced with tailored pieces with a slight menswear-feel.

You can check out the Paper Crown line at its website.

Lauren told MTV that the name "Paper Crown" was inspired by games of dress up when she was growing up.

"When I was little I used to go to my grandmother's and we would always play dress-up; but when I would go there, I wouldn't have my dress-up trunk with me, so we'd make these paper crowns. That was our way of creating our own glamour—and that's what we wanted the line to be like," she told MTV.

You also can find her fashions at Kohl's with LC Lauren Conrad. LC Lauren Conrad is a line of more affordable fashions, which are inspired by a relaxed California look for girls with busy lifestyles. The feel is completely different from her Paper Crown line. The pieces in her Kohl's line are more casual, but they can go from day into night and are charming and romantic. Check out the LC Lauren Conrad line on Kohl's website.

When I met her last week at Nordstrom, I was starstruck. She’s just as beautiful and nice as she seems to be on television. But I did take the chance to ask her a few questions:

Her favorite accessory? "Shoes of course, but I really need to go on a shoe shopping spree, I'm going without shoe withdrawal."

Favorite place to shop? "Barneys!"
