Eastside Fashion: Pretty and Patriotic!

Red, White, and You! So what to wear for this year's shindigs? The main thing to consider while choosing what to wear for the fourth of July is to not go too overboard!

Just as the patriotic song goes ”And I’m proud to be and American, where at least I know I’m free. And I wont forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.” God Bless the USA! I’m truly proud to be an American. I'm very excited for the next couple days. My favorite summer holiday is coming up, the Fourth of July. It's just so fun and festive. It has "5 Fs": Fun, Family, Fashion, Fireworks, and Food! What else could be better? This festive holiday means lots of fun yummy parties and BBQs. Which, for me, also means dressing up in chic Fourth of July outfits!

Red, White and You

So what to wear for this year’s shindigs? The main thing to consider while choosing what to wear for the fourth of July is to not go too overboard! I mean unless you're in a Fourth of July parade or something, you don’t want to be looking like big walking American flag or a huge sparkling firework. That’s a huge fashion no-no.

Not to knock Old Navy, which I absolutely love, but come on, ladies, we can do better than the classic Old Navy flag shirt that the sell every year for the annual holiday. There are so many ways look pretty and patriotic in more stylin' ways than you would really think!

So, really there are just three colors to work with here: red, white, and blue. But you can play with these patriotic colors. Try using different shades of blue and red, such as, teal, turquoise, or even coral. If you’re a daring fashionista you could even try adding a neutral color like beige! This will work perfectly with the patriotic colors, and compliment everyone. What’s also great is that fourth of July fashion can tie into the fabulous summer trend: nautical colors!

So what to do if you're not having or going to a BBQ or party? No plans? No worries! The Eastside is hosting a great range of patriotic events this year! One of my personal favorite annual Fourth of July events that Bellevue hosts is the Eastside's largest Fourth of July celebrations, . This is such a fun event. They have things to do for any age, and fireworks in the evening. Another great event is there is a patriotic parade in Kirkland! I heard that was incredibly fun!

If you're still not sure what to wear for the fourth, check out some of these fun flirty options you can mix together!

4th of July option 1: white high wasted shorts, blue tank, red wedges, red pearl necklace

4th of July option 2: patriotic flag heels, white dress, blue floppy hat, red dot earrings

4th of July option 3: blue romper, red flip-flops/ sandals,  and a white headband!
