Ex-T-Mobile USA CEO Headed to Vodafone

Philipp Humm's departure from Belleuve-based T-Mobile USA announced earlier this week.

Former T-Mobile USA head Philipp Humm, whose departure was announced Wednesday, will work for rival Vodafone in Europe, according to a report from Bloomberg news.

Humm's , and an announcement of his new employer was expected soon.

Vodafone, based in Newberry, England, UK, is a rival to T-Mobile's parent company, Germany-based Deutsche Telekom, and Humm is being hired to head Vodafone's efforts in northern and eastern Europe, according to the Bloomberg report.

The move would also allow Humm to leave Bellevue and return to Europe, where his family is based, according to T-Mobile's press release from earlier this week.

T-Mobile USA's Chief Operating Officer, Jim Alling, will be an interim CEO basis while the company searches, according to the press release.

Humm joined Deutsche Telekom in 2005 in Germany. In May 2010 he moved to T-Mobile USA., taking over as CEO in November of that year, according to the company.
