Five Things You Need To Know Today: April 22

It's time for five weekend things. Also, it's Earth Day today, so we hope you get a chance to enjoy some of Bellevue's great green spaces today.

1)  Today is Free Class Friday at the , 9825 NE 24th St, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. The Northwest Arts Center houses nearly 200 art and fitness programs.  Programs include an introduction to visual and performing arts, as well as fitness classes for people of all ages.  The is a pottery studio, kiln room, and a large dance studio with large dance mirrors and dance barres. The center is also home to two outdoor sculptures: "Visions of the Deep" by Dudley Carter, and "Amore" by John Kenney. 

2) Want to get involved with local government? Today is the last day to apply for an openings for . The City Council is seeking candidates for vacancies on the Arts, Environmental Services and Human Services commissions. The city manager seeks candidates for an opening on the Civil Service Commission. An opening on the Civil Service Commission opening will be accepted until the position is filled. 3)  , at 15760 NE 4th St., is hosting an on Saturday, April 23, from 10 – 11 a.m. Come and find the Gold and Silver Eggs! Bring your own basket and camera and your children ages 2 – 12 to hunt for prized-filled eggs and snap a photo with the Easter Bunny! As a bonus, you’ll find free espresso drinks for parents.

4)  If you’re looking for some more grownup fun, did you know that is celebrating her birthday at in Bellevue Square on Saturday, April 23? The night will feature a number of guest DJs as well. It’s a 21 and over event, and cover is $10.

5) This weekend, perhaps after Easter Brunch and before Easter dinner, head out to the , at 12001 Main St., to view the , created by members of the school. The free show will be on display in the Visitor Center on Sat, April 23 and Sun, April 24.
