Five Things You Need To Know Today: Aug. 16

Shakespeare and movies in the park, puppy love art, and plan ahead for a get-ready-for-kindergarten workshop

1. Come to Bellevue Downtown Park Tuesday nights in July and August for FREE popcorn and FREE Outdoor movies on a giant 40-foot screen! This week's movie is The Karate Kid. 

2. Enjoy Shakespeare in the Park at , 12001 Main St, from 12-1 p.m.  This event is FREE.  .

3. My Dog Spot is an art show by local artist Susan Straub-Martin, at , 13850 Bel Red Rd. This show features paintings of dogs Susan has met in her travels. Also featured are greeting cards and holiday ornaments. Come see your favorite dog daily between noon and 6 p.m. WOOF!

Plan ahead: If you have a child entering kindergarten this fall, is hosting a parents workshop, with an open conversation about safety to provide your child with the proper tools to greet the school year tomorrow, Aug. 17, at 6 p.m. It’s FREE, but pre-registration is required. Childcare provided for a suggested donation of $5/child.
