Five Things You Need To Know Today: June 3

Jazz, high fashion, carnival and fresh food top our list of weekend things

There’s a lot of great stuff happening around Bellevue this weekend—the big question is how will you decide what to take advantage of?

  1. Today is one of my favorite days: Free First Friday at both the , open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and , between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.  And tonight from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. you can enjoy the First Friday lecture series at BAM as well. Details about the speakers .
  2. Vibraphonist Susan Pascal will perform tonight with guitarist David Peterson at as part of the Bellevue Jazz Festival’s free concert series.   and a complete lineup of the festival here.
  3. Saturday is an exciting day at the , which holds its annual school carnival, called Kermesse. The carnival runs from 11:30 to 3 p.m. on Saturday and is open to the public.
  4. After a frolic at Kermesse for the kids, you might enjoy something more adult: High Tea and High Fashion with Blue Luna at on Saturday, from 3 – 5 p.m. The tea service costs $15;
  5. Let us not forget, in our carnival/couture excitement, the delicious opening day of the Saturday Bellevue Farmers Market at the First Congregational Church from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. .
