Independence Day is a holiday. What's open and what's closed in Bellevue?

Independence Day is Monday, July 4. Here is a list of what’s open and what's closed.

If you're looking for a way to celebrate the Fourth of July, the Downtown Bellevue Association is organizing the Symetra Family Fourth celebration in Downtown Park.

If you are traveling today, check out the Washington State Department of Transportation web pages to plan your route. You can expect heavy traffic along I-90 Snoqualmie Pass, US 2 Stevens Pass, Interstate 5 near the U.S./Canadian border and I-5 between Olympia and Tacoma.

is closed Monday. It will reopen Tuesday, July 5. The city council meeting, normally scheduled for Monday, will start at 6 p.m. Tuesday with a study session, followed by a regular session at 8 p.m.

King County government: Closed.

The King County Library System is closed today.

King County Metro: Holiday schedule. Click here to see how your route is affected.

King County Transfer Stations (AKA King County Solid Waste Division): Open regular hours. The Factoria location at 13800 SE 32nd St. is open from 6:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday.

Shopping Centers: Many stores and restaurants keep different holiday hours from the main shopping centers, so check with an individual store for exact hours. is open until 6 p.m. is open from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., though some of its retailers have different hours or are closed today (click here to see the website). is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

State of Washington: Closed.

State liquor stores: The Downtown Bellevue and Bellevue Eastgate state liquor stores will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for your spirits needs. The Bellevue location is at . The Eastgate liquor store is in the same shopping center as the at 15100 S.E. 38th St.

Washington State Ferries: All routes will operate on a holiday schedule.

Federal government (including the U.S. Postal Service): Closed

Banks: Many, if not most, will be closed. Check your local branch.

Garbage and Recycling: Garbage and recycling will be on its regular schedule in Bellevue.
