GiveBIG 2013: Who in Bellevue Can You Help with a Donation?

During the one-day charity event, The Seattle Foundation will augment donations made to nonprofits through the foundation's website. Is your favorite nonprofit taking part? Tell us in the comments.

Bellevue nonprofits are set to benefit during The Seattle Foundation's GiveBIG event, which will "stretch" donations made to nonprofits through the foundation's website. More than 1,400 nonprofit organizations are participating in this year's event, according to The Seattle Foundation's website. Participating groups that are based in Bellevue, or have programs in Bellevue include:

"Stretching" Donations

According to The Seattle Foundation, each donation made through The Seattle Foundation's website to the any of the profiled organizations between midnight and midnight (Pacific Time) on May 15, 2013 will receive a portion of the matching funds pool (the "stretch pool"). Sponsors include Microsoft, the Bezos Family Foundation and others listed on the GiveBIG website.

Donors can win too

Throughout GiveBIG, donors will be chosen at random to have an additional $1,000 given to the charity that received their donation, according to The Seattle Foundation. The selected donor will also be eligible to win a Starbucks gift card worth $100.
