Great Escape: Beautiful Snoqualmie Falls

Just a short distance east lies a beautiful set of falls in a peaceful mountain setting.

I had driven by the Snoqualmie Falls exit from Interstate 90 numerous times before I finally was inspired by a friend to stop and check it out. It's absolutely beautiful for a day trip, and can make a lovely weekend escape if you stay at the Salish Lodge & Spa, located just near the falls.

The falls includes a two-acre park, observation deck, gift shop, and the famous 270 foot waterfall, though you should note that the hiking trail is currently closed.

The park and free viewing area are open from dawn until dusk. Leashed pets are allowed. The distance between the free parking lot and the viewing platform is approximately 200 feet and is wheelchair accessible.
