Great Escape: Kickin' it Right in Town

Sometimes entertainment is right under your nose

I was never super interested in piano bars, even when they became popular in my hometown of Spokane.

Then I actually gave in Bellevue Square, a chance, and wow, what great fun!

For $10 plus a babysitter, you can have a night of great music, complete with adlibs and a highly energetic crowd (including you!)

Two pianists take requests and sing each Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. They'll take on anything you can dish out, from Tupac to Journey, with a lot of fun ad-libbing in between.

The emphasis is on music, so there isn't a lot of food available in Piano Bash, but drinks and peanuts are served and patrons are encouraged to just toss the shells on the floor.

Piano Bash is operated by Munch Group, and the cover charge gets you access to Munchbar's ultra lounge right next door.

It's a great night out if you don't want to go far from home, but just want to have some fun.
