New Photos Released of Missing Boy, Apple Cup, and Holiday Preparation in this Week's Top Stories

New photos released of missing toddler Sky Metalwala, 2, and his mother, Julia Biryukova, Black Friday, and the Apple Cup were among the top headlines on Bellevue Patch this week.

Here are some of the top stories and some others you may have missed in the past week on Bellevue Patch:

Bellevue Police released photos in the search for Sky Metalwala on Nov. 18, twelve days after he went missing. Police say that these photos more accurately show what the family looked like in the days before 2-year-old Sky's disappearance than previously released photos of the boy and his mother, Julia Biryukova.

The old Top Food and Drug in Crossroads reopened with a new hyperlocal concept. "Hyperlocal" groceries is a concept that has caught on in Bellevue, with the transformation of Haggen's Top Food and Drug to Northwest Fresh, and the addition of Your Local Market in downtown Bellevue.

Black Friday was huge throughout the country, and Bellevue was no exception. This preview stories about what was open in the wee hours was among the top stories this week.

The most important game of the Pac-12 -- the Washington rivalry game -- was played Saturday, with the Washington Huskies on top of the Washington State Cougars, 38-21. The Huskies lead the Cougars in this rivalry that extends to 1900, which now has a record of 67-31-6.

Chef John Howie hosted about 600 guests at Seastar Restaurant and Raw Bar for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. The guest list included Eastside families in need.

The fifteenth annual downtown holiday event, produced by the Bellevue Downtown Association, is a family-friendly celebration of the holidays, including ice skating, music and performances, Garden d'Lights and more.

A report in the financial news service says that AT&T may not be able to avoid federal court in its bid to merge with T-Mobile. After this report was issued, AT&T and T-Mobile withdrew their merger bid, but said that they had the intention of resubmitting the merger to the FCC. The New York Times reports that the federal regulator and AT&T are disagreeing over the implications of that move.
