Ready to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo?

Local restaurants are offering drink and food specials Thursday, May 5

Thursday, May 5, is Cinco de Mayo, a holiday celebrating the unlikely defeat of the French army at Pueblo, Mexico in 1862 (not Mexican Independence Day, as is commonly thought).

Though not widely celebrated in Mexico, the holiday has evolved here over time to become a celebration of Mexican culture. It’s a big food and dining holiday for local Mexican restaurants, marked with food and drink specials and a festive atmosphere that we all can appreciate.

Here’s a sampling of Bellevue restaurants where you can go to celebrate Cinco de Mayo:

The specials start at 11 a.m., and continue until they are gone, so get there early and stay late.
