Seattle Humane Society Struts Its Stuff At Fundraiser

The Tuxes and Tails fashion show and auction brought in $850,000 for Seattle Humane Society

Every year, more than 600 animal lovers gather to bid on amazing silent and live auction items in support of the animals in the shelter's  care. Guests enjoy a gourmet dinner, delicious wine, and find delight in the night’s finale--a celebrity and pet fashion show.

This weekend, Seattle Humane Society raised $850,000 at the event, up from $675,000 last year.  The funds raised from the event go directly to providing food, shelter, and veterinary care for the thousands of animals in our care each year. It also supports its low-fee spay/neuter services, its Pet Food Bank for the pets of low-income seniors and Pet Project for the animals of people with AIDS, and many other life-saving programs and services.

This year's emcees were Herb Weisbaum of KOMO news and Margaret Larson, host of KING 5's New Day Northwest.
