Bellevue Snow Update: Area May See Five Inches Wednesday

The National Weather Service says that Bellevue may see four inches of snow, less than what's predicted for other parts of Western Washington. However, city and regional officials are still gearing up for icy and snowy weather.

Bellevue may see up to four inches of snow, which means it won't be as hard hit as other parts of the state, according to the National Weather Service.

Bellevue and King County area is not expected to be as hard hit as the Southwest Washington area, according to the National Weather Service. Bellevue may see new snow accumulation of up to 4 inches before 4 p.m., and an additional inch in the evening. Other areas of the state are expecting between 4 and 8 inches of snow, the weather service reported.

Winter weather will affect the area through Tuesday afternoon and possibly through Wednesday evening, as significant snow accumulations are expected late tonight and another 5 to 10 inches of  new snow possible by Wednesday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service warns drivers to expect travel difficulties on Wednesday.

The National Weather Service reports that a Puget Sound convergence zone is producing moderate to locally heavy snow showers north of North Seattle and Kirkland to Camano Island and Arlington Tuesday afternoon.

The snow will remain nearly stationary through about 2:30 p.m., according to the weather service.

Temperatures are falling below freezing, so expect roadways across northern King County to be snow covered, the weather service reported.
