At , customers can bring a non-perishable food item or money to donate to Northwest Harvest. Donors enter to win the prize of a dozen free donuts a month for a year. Each Top Pot Cafe will draw one name at 1 p.m. Friday June 3. The Bellevue Top Pot is at 10600 NE 9th Pl. in downtown.

At Krispy Kreme, which has an Eastside location in Issaquah, each person who stops by can get one of its doughnuts for free at participating locations today during its regular business hours. The Issaquah Krispy Kreme is at 6210 East Lake Sammamish Parkway.

According to Krispy Kreme's press release, the holiday was established in 1938 by The Salvation Army to raise money to help people in need.

Dunkin' Dunuts is also offering a free doughnut with a purchase of any beverage, but it's out of reach for Eastsiders unless you happen to be near the closest store in Las Vegas.
