Vintage Auto Show To Showcase Aston Martin, Corvette and More at Carillon Point

The famous James Bond Aston Martin will be among many classics at the Carillon Point show on Sept. 11. The city is advising regular motorists to expect heavy traffic on nearby streets.

The 9th annual Concours d’ Elegance show of vintage autos, motorcycles and boats -- including the famous James Bond Aston Martin -- is on Sept. 11 at Carillon Point, and the city is advising regular motorists to expect heavy traffic.

It’s a big show, one of the premier “concours” events in the country. Dozens of vintage autos, cycles and boats will be judged in 12 historic classes from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. -- Martins, Pierce Arrows, Corvettes, Jaguars, vintage wooden boats, classic cycles.

They’ll be spread out over the Carillon Point plaza and parking lots, with boats on near-shore docks in the adjacent marina. Judging will be based on rarity, quality, presence and most of all, elegance.

For many, the highlight will be what might be the most famous car in the world, the Aston Martin DB5, known by its original United Kingdom registration number, FMP 7B. This Aston Martin is one of only two, and the sole remaining, of the original ‘007’ DB5s featured with Sean Connery behind the wheel in the Goldfinger and Thunberball movies.

Traffic will be busy on that Sunday, according to the city, on Lake Washington Boulevard and Lakeview Drive.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for youth 7-17 and free for younger kids. For details see the Concours web pages here.
