Weather Service Issues Wind Advisory for Tuesday Night

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for strong winds that could continue until 9 p.m. tonight. The winds are expected to gradually diminish.

Strong winds of between 20 to 30 mph and gusts of 45 to 50 mph are expected Tuesday night until about 9 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

A strong wind advisory will remain in effect until about midnight, with winds diminishing afterward. Local damage could include falling tree limbs, damage to power lines, and toppled trees due to saturated soil or ice damage , according to a weather service advisory.

Wednesday's forecast calls for showers and a high near 45. The wind is not forecast to be quite as strong as Tuesday night's forecasted winds, with a south southwest wind between 7 and 11 mph.
