Youth Connection | WEDay: Yes we can

Rachel Swartz emphasizes the importance of change that comes for every one of us.

It started with a dream- a dream of a better world. It started in a global community, in which youth beam with altruism and pure, dignified action. Young Craig Kielburger started Free The Children at just 12 years old with a group of fellow students. From the start, this global volunteer enterprise has specialized in "children helping children." Since its founding in 1995, Free The Children has built 650 schools, these schools educate 55,000 children each day.
Free The Children holds an annual series of events known as "We Day".

You can’t buy a ticket to We Day; you earn it through volunteering. Past events have all been held in Canada, featuring speakers such as Al Gore, Jane Goodall, and His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, as well as performances from Justin Bieber and Demi Lavato. For the first time, a We Day event will be held right here in Seattle, on March 27th.

Bellevue’s very own Youth Link will attend this year’s We Day event and we hope to see you there!
