Weekend Things: Sept. 16-18

What are you planning to do in Bellevue this weekend? Here are some suggestions we patched together.

1. Get your live music on at , 600 Bellevue Way NE, Friday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. Kiko Freitas is a native Brazilian guitarist and vocalist who combines the swinging rhythm of Brazil’s Bossa Nova and Samba beats with Jazz, R&B and the heart of an entertainer for a fresh and fun performance. Vocalist Nikki DeCaires joins him for an unstoppable Brazilian music tour-de-force.

2. The stars align at , 3000 Landerholm Cir SE, Friday, Sept. 16, at 7:30 p.m. Get over to the Willard Geer Planetarium at Bellevue College to view the show "Stars" and stay to take a brief tour of the night sky using the college’s state-of-the-art Digistar 3 planetarium projector.  Each show will last approximately 35-40 minutes.

3. Ready for a Teen Workshop at , 510 Bellevue Way NE? Telese Heckler will show interested teens the basics of creating their own fashion sketches in this workshop on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 1 – 3 p.m. Please RSVP: www.bellevuearts.org/calendar/rsvp.html.

4. Visit the , 600 Bellevue Way NE, Friday, Sept 16, from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. for an enlivening evening of dance, dinner and talk by Radhanath Swami, a renowned spiritual leader and an author on the topic "Yoga of the Heart", an art of finding fulfillment within your heart. Mark your calendar and RSVP if you plan to attend this event.

5. Here’s a fun one for the family at , 5808 Lakemont Blvd SE, Sunday, Sept. 18 at 1:30 p.m. Rain or shine, we will walk to the cattail marsh, learn how Native Americans harvested them and why they were so important to these clever people who discovered how to make mats that heat up!
