What's Open and Closed for Labor Day; Volunteer for the Hungry and More

It might be a quiet day, but a good one to prepare for upcoming workshops and volunteer opportunities

1. Do you know what’s open and what’s closed today?

2. Did you know you can upload your own events and announcements to Bellevue Patch? Whether a garage sale or a neighborhood festival or picnic or even a wedding announcement, registered users can let their neighbors know what's going on by clicking here to start.

3. Get your registration in for a free advocacy and media training for human services providers, volunteers and clients in King County. The training will take place Wed., Sept. 7, from 3 – 5 p.m. at the MercerView Community Center. Pre-registration is required; register at www.kingcountyalliance.com.

4. There’s a great volunteer opportunity coming up. Saturday, Sept. 24, is Mayors' Day of Concern for the Hungry. Municipalities throughout King County, including Bellevue, are coordinating food drives to support  the Emergency Feeding Program of Seattle & King County and its mission to help feed those in need.

5. It’s time to test your knowledge at Trivia Night at the , 15600 NE 8th St., Bellevue, at 8 p.m. .
