Where Will You be at 11 a.m. on 11/11/11?

Tomorrow, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m., the Honor Guard from Lake Washington VFW Post #2995, based in Redmond, will hold a Veterans day Ceremony at Memorial Park.

In the front of the Memorial Park, the numerous large flags on display have all been donated by family members of servicemen and women who have died, and the flags adorned the caskets of those servicemen and women. The flags are flown on holidays such as Memorial Day and Veterans’ Day, said Hank Kerns, CEO of Sunset Hills Memorial Park and Funeral Home.

Local businesses also are offering specials to mark the occasion, such as Z’Tejas, which is offering a “BUD & BURGER” special for Veteran’s Day this Friday. The Bellevue restaurant will be serving an ice cold Budweiser or Bud Light alongside its Z’ Red White and Blue Burger on 11/11/11 for only $11.11, all day long. One dollar from every “Bud & Burger” sold will be donated to Vet Tix, a national nonprofit organization that provides military personnel and their families with free tickets to concerts, sporting events and other activities.
