WSDOT: Lane Closures Coming Up

There will be a closed on-ramp on Interstate 405 during the Mother's Day Brunch commute, and continued nighttime lane closures on State route 520 this week as the Washington State Department of Transportation gears up for the June launch of the Good-To-Go tolling system on SR 520 north of Bellevue.

Below are anticipated closures coming up through Friday, May 13:

Maintenance

• Saturday, May 7 – The left lane of the eastbound I-90 collector distributor that connects drivers to both directions of I-405 will close from 5 to 10 a.m. to replace an overhead sign. One lane will remain open.
• Sunday, May 8 - The southbound Bellevue Way SE on-ramp to both directions of I-405 will close from 4 a.m. to noon to replace an overhead sign.  

• Until Mid-May: A single lane of the 124th Avenue NE on-ramp to westbound SR 520 will remain closed around-the-clock. Two lanes will remain open.

Medina to SR 202 Eastside Transit and HOV, and bridge signing for Tolling

• Monday, May 9 - the morning of Friday, May 13 - Crews will close a single lane of eastbound and westbound SR 520 from Lake Washington to east of 108th Avenue nightly from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. for construction work.

Geotechnical Drilling

• Monday, May 9 - The right lane eastbound SR 520, west of Montlake Blvd. will close from 11:59 p.m. to 4 a.m. for construction work.

Toll collection system

• Wednesday, May 11 - All lanes of eastbound SR 520 from Montlake Blvd. to 92nd Avenue NE will close from 11:59 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for construction work related to the new tolling system.
• Thursday, May 12 - All lanes of westbound SR 520 from 92nd Avenue NE to Montlake Blvd. will close from 11:59 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for construction work related to the new tolling system.

Floating bridge monthly maintenance

• Thursday, May 12 - Crews will conduct monthly testing on the SR 520 floating bridge for maintenance work. Eastbound SR 520 will close from 11 p.m. Wednesday to 4:30 a.m. Thursday to test the toll signing equipment. Rolling slowdowns in the westbound direction expected to begin Thursday at 2:30 a.m. and end at 5 a.m. During this time, drivers can expect the bridge to be closed to traffic for up to 30 minutes at a time.
