Karine Plantadit Lecture & Master Classes at Emerald Ballet Academy

Master Teacher and Performer Karine Plantadit Coming to Bellevue’s Emerald Ballet Academy July 23-25

Aspiring dancers and performers, take note: It’s not too late to catch stage and screen gem Karine Plantadit during her West Coast visit. Ms. Plantadit will lecture and give master classes at Emerald Ballet Academy from July 23-25. Registration is open to the community.

Raised in Cameroon and now based in New York City, Ms. Plantadit was a soloist with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater for seven years. She has appeared in numerous Broadway shows such as the original Lion King and Twyla Tharp’s Come Fly Away. Her television and movie appearances include So You Think You Can Dance, the 82nd Academy Awards, Frida, and Sex and the City. The director of a coaching program called Nail Your Auditions, she is frequently a judge for Youth America Grand Prix.

The Tony-nominated dancer and actress will teach master classes in modern/contemporary on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. In addition, on Tuesday from 12:30-2:15pm, Ms. Plantadit will give a special lecture on auditioning, competing and forging a career path. Parents of registered students are welcome to attend for free. Individual tickets to the lecture are also on sale for $40. Thanks to generous support from the City of Bellevue, full and partial scholarships are available.
