Series: Parenting Your Soon-to-be Teen

Four-part series Thursdays, Oct. 17, 24; Nov. 7, 14
6-8 p.m

As children approach the teen years (8 to 12 years old), it’s a key time to lay the foundation for the adolescent years.  This proactive approach will ease the transition to the middle and high school years.

In this 4 session class offered by Youth Eastside Services, parents will learn how to:

• Help your pre-teen build skills to understand body and brain changes.
• Manage school changes.
• Support social and emotional growth.

Instructor: Jennifer Watanabe is a parent coach and certified Positive Discipline parenting educator. The mother of two adolescent sons, she has been teaching parenting classes at Bellevue College for 16 years.
