Why Can't Smart Phones Learn to Swim?

Smartphone immersion? Do not attempt to turn on the phone. Rather, bring it in for a far less expensive professional dis-assembly and drying.

A tale of two smartphones..

I am now the not so proud owner of not one, but two drowned smart phones. Over the past six months I have had to rescue two rather expensive smartphones, in both instances ched within seconds of liquid immersion. But to no avail, both DOA – Dead on Activation.

Luckily, there is a technician in Bellevue who will attempt resuscitation for a reasonable fee. It may be that my multi-hundred dollar cell phones will be revived at a fraction of the expense it would require for replacement.

FYI: I have learned from our local technician that if sudden immersion should happen in the future, I should not attempt to turn on the phone. Instead, set it aside, bring it to him for a thorough dis assembly and drying process that may get my phone back with only a twenty dollar expense.

A folk remedy calls for attempting home dis-assembly applying the crystal form of kitty litter, a desiccant, for 24 hours.

But the question still remains: If cell phones are so very smart why can’t they learn to swim as well?
